How do I learn to use the CV-2100
Companion software? |
|
| A. |
The best way to learn how to use the CV-2100
Companion software is to read read the software
user's guide. However, the user's guide assumes
that yo understand the basic operation of your
CV-2100. Therefore, if you do have a fundamental
understanding of your CV-2100 and its functionality,
we suggest you start with the CV-2100 user's
manual.

| Q. |
Can I save my measurement an Access 2000 database
instead of the default Access 97 format? |
|
| A. |
Yes. When installed, your software will use
the Access 97 format for all new measurement
databases. Although this format can be converted
by Access 2000 when opened, you can still baseline
your databases as Access 2000 new format by following
these steps:
- locate the "private" folder found
under the directory where the CV-2100 Companion
software was installed (normally 'C:\Program
Files\CV-2100_Companion')
- under this folder find three files:
- "do_not_modify.mdb": used
by the CV-2100 Companion as the baseline
database used when creating a new database
- "97_do_not_modify.mdb":
the Access 97 format of the baseline
database
- "2000_do_not_modify.mdb":
the Access 2000 format of the baseline
database
- delete the file "do_not_modify.mdb"
- rename "2000_do_not_modify.mdb" as "do_not_modify.mdb"
- any new databases created by the CV-2100
Companion will now use the Access 2000 format

| Q. |
During data acquisition mode, I receive the error, "An
error occurred attempting to process data. The
CV trigger may be too fast for this software or
the incoming data is corrupt. Data acquisition
has been disabled." |
|
| A. |
The most common source of this error is your
computer's inability to keep up with the incoming
measurement/image data from the CV-2100:
- be sure there are no other process intensive
applications running on your computer during
data acquisition mode
- reduce the trigger frequency of the CV-2100
Another possible cause of this error message
is instructing the CV-2100 Companion software
save/display Screen Captures of all failed
parts while instructing the CV-2100 to output
part image data:
- display part image output from the CV-2100
It is also possible to see this error message
if you change the Ethernet outputs settings
of your CV-2100 without creating a new database
file. All databases are created using the expected
parameters from the CV-2100. If the Ethernet
output settings are changed in any way, a new
database must be created:
- create a new database file and restart
data acquisition
